Requirement:
NSN was to deploy its IN to cater to 10 million subscribers in BSNL’s South Zone (comprising of 5 networks / circles) in India. Specialised Resource Function (SRF) is a component for which NSN opted to go with 6d. The requirement was to deploy a high capacity SRF of 7200 ports across 5 locations.

6d’s Solution:
6d went ahead with a distributed architecture where in media ports of 48 E1s each were placed across each of the 5 networks / circles and signalling being handled centrally at one location. Some of the highlights of this solution and implementations are:
  • Ownership of recording prompts (in 6 regional languages) was taken by 6d.
  • Handling IN Services of NSN’s SCP
  • XML based Tone Configuration
  • Flexible place holder definitions for variable parts(Price, PIN, …) for different languages
  • Tone interpreter to define a tone as a combination of multiple fragments
